RFX GATEWAY: Care, Cleaning & Placement

Summary: The RFX GATEWAY is a rugged electronic device, but it is not heat-proof or waterproof. It must be kept away from direct contact with hot smoker surfaces and cleaned only with a damp cloth.

Critical Placement Warning

⚠️ Do Not Mount on Hot Surfaces

The RFX GATEWAY housing is made of industrial plastic, but it will melt if placed directly on a hot smoker box, grill lid, or firebox above 122°F.

Correct Placement: Place the Gateway on a side shelf, a nearby table, or mount it using the magnetic backing on a cool hopper surface.

How to Clean

If your Gateway gets covered in grease, ash, or sauce:

• Do: Wipe it down with a damp cloth, paper towel, or a mild cleaner.
• Do Not:
  • Never submerge the Gateway in water.
  • Never put it in the dishwasher.
  • Never spray liquid cleaners directly into the USB or Probe ports.
