RFX GATEWAY: Device & Channel Settings Guide

Summary: The RFX GATEWAY settings are split into two sections. Device Settings control the hub itself (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Firmware, and Battery). Channel Settings control the specific behavior of the wired Pro-Series Probe connected to the Gateway (Alarms, Names, Graphs).

Device Settings

These settings manage the Gateway's power, connectivity, and firmware.

• Device ID: The unique serial number printed on the side of the unit near the USB-C port.
• Device Name: Defaults to "RFX GATEWAY". You can rename it here (e.g., "Patio Hub"). Press Update to save.
• Battery Status:
  • On & Connected: Displays current battery level.
  • Charging: Displays "Charging" (level is hidden while charging).
  • Off/Disconnected: Displays the last known level from when it was last online.
• Pro-Series Probe Interval: Controls how often the Wired Probe sends data.
  • Options: 15, 30, or 60 seconds.
  • Note: This does not affect the update rate of wireless RFX MEAT probes (which are controlled in their own settings).
• Connectivity (Wi-Fi & Bluetooth):
  • Bluetooth: Shows signal strength. Use the yellow button to Connect or Disconnect from your phone.
  • Wi-Fi: Shows signal strength and current Network Name (SSID). Use the Update button to change Wi-Fi networks.
• Firmware: Displays the current software version running on the Gateway.
• Remove Device: Deletes the Gateway from your cloud account.

Channel Settings

These settings control the Wired Pro-Series Probe port on the side of the Gateway.

• Enabled: Must be ON for alarms to work. (Data is still recorded to history even if disabled).
• Channel Name: Label the wired probe (e.g., "Pit Temp" or "Grill Grate"). Max 40 characters. Click Save at the bottom to apply.
• High / Low Alarms: Enable these to receive notifications if the wired probe goes above or below your set limits.
• Average Temperature: Displays an average of the last 15 readings. Useful for seeing trends in a fluctuating fire.
• Rate of Change: Shows how fast the temperature is rising or falling. Useful for predicting when low-and-slow cooks, like brisket, will be finished.
• Ring Color: Select the color that matches the silicone ring on your physical probe to keep track of multiple sensors.
• Min/Max Reset: Tapping reset clears the "High" and "Low" markers for the current cook session.
