How to Pair RFX MEAT to the App

Summary: RFX MEAT connects to the cloud via the RFX GATEWAY. To pair a new probe, you must have the Gateway set up first. The pairing process requires a physical "handshake" where you can simply have the probe next to the Gateway antenna.

Before You Begin

Ensure you have the following ready:

• RFX GATEWAY: Must be set up on your account, turned on, and connected to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.
  • Check: The RFX GATEWAY LED should be Solid Green.
• RFX MEAT: Should be charged and currently sitting inside the charging block.

Step-by-Step Pairing Guide

1. Open App: Go to the Device Dashboard (or tap Menu Devices).
2. Add Device: Tap the + Device button.
3. Select Model: Choose RFX MEAT from the list.
4. The "Handshake":
   • Remove the RFX MEAT probe from the charging block.
   • Move the probe near the RFX GATEWAY antenna.
   • Wait: Hold it there or keep it extremely close. This process may take up to 2 minutes to finalize the connection.
5. Finish: Once recognized, the App will ask you to name the device and configure your settings.

💡 Why Touch the Antenna?

The initial pairing requires maximum signal strength (-20 dBm to -40 dBm) to verify security and ownership. Touching the antenna ensures the signal is strong enough to confirm the handshake instantly.
