If your DishTemp is unresponsive or failing to power on, the most common culprit is an incorrectly installed battery or a lack of connection within the battery compartment. Please follow the steps below to ensure your battery is seated perfectly.
🛠️ How to Check Your Battery Installation
- Open the compartment: Use a screwdriver to remove the battery cover on the back of the DishTemp.
- Check the Metal Clip: Look inside the compartment for a small metal tab/clip. The battery must be slid underneath this metal clip. If the battery is placed on top of it, the device will not power on.
- Verify Polarity: Ensure the 3-volt CR2032 battery is installed with the positive (+) side facing up.
- Beware of "Bitter Coatings": Many major battery brands now coat their coin-cell batteries with an invisible, bitter-tasting film to prevent accidental ingestion by children. This coating often impedes the electrical connection. If you think this may be the cause, gently scrub both sides with an abrasive pad and rubbing alcohol for 30 seconds to remove the coating before installing.
- Seal tightly: Once the battery is secured under the clip, replace the cover and tighten it firmly to ensure the DishTemp maintains its waterproof seal for the commercial dishwasher.
If you have correctly installed a fresh CR2032 battery under the clip and your DishTemp still will not turn on, please let us know so we can help!
