Summary: Orders requesting a Custom Calibration Certificate (NIST-Traceable) require a minimum lead time of 5–10 business days (1–2 weeks) to process through our accredited lab. This service cannot be expedited.
Standard Turnaround Time
When you purchase a commercial instrument (such as the IR-IND) and add a Custom Calibration option, the device must physically enter our A2LA-accredited calibration laboratory for testing against standards.
Current Lead Time:
Please allow a minimum of 1 to 2 weeks for the calibration work to be completed before the order ships.
Can I Expedite the Calibration?
No. We do not offer an "Expedited Service" or "Rush Fee" for the calibration lab work itself.
Our lab processes a high volume of requests, including:
- New commercial orders.
- Annual re-calibration services for existing customers.
To maintain our rigorous standards and accreditation requirements, every device must go through the proper queue and testing procedure without shortcuts.
Shipping Speed vs. Lab Time
It is important to distinguish between Shipping and Lab Service:
- Lab Time (Fixed): ~1-2 weeks. You cannot speed this up.
- Shipping Time (Flexible): Once the lab work is done, we will ship the order via the method you selected at checkout.
Example: If you select "FedEx Overnight," your order will still take 1-2 weeks to process in the lab, but once it is finished, it will be shipped via Overnight delivery.
Planning Ahead
For mission-critical commercial applications, we recommend ordering your devices or scheduling your re-calibrations at least 3 weeks in advance of when they are needed to account for lab variance and shipping transit.
